How do you know if you qualify for the new home buyer tax credits?

This is really great news for buyers!  The $8,000 tax credit for first time home buyers has been extended and expanded to include a $6,500 credit for qualified repeat home buyers.  As with anything tax related, there are certain requirements that one must meet.
